We are incredibly honored to be featured in the St. Cloud Times, thanks to journalist Teagan King and her wonderful article, “Former Vikings player Esera Tuaolo brings Hawaiian restaurant to St. Joseph food hall.”
After a successful career with the Minnesota Vikings and as a celebrated musician and anti-bullying advocate, Esera Tuaolo is bringing his next big venture to life — opening 98 Hawaiian Grill at House Food and Tap in St. Joseph this spring 2025!
Drawing from his roots growing up on a banana farm in Hawaii and years of experience in the culinary world, including as an executive chef and caterer, Esera is excited to share authentic Polynesian comfort food and Hawaiian favorites like teriyaki beef, pineapple BBQ chicken, poke bowls, and even his mom’s famous teriyaki spaghetti.
But 98 Hawaiian Grill is more than just food — it’s about community, culture, and connection. As Esera shared in the article, “I’m new to the community, so what I need to do is blend in, I need to help. People already know me … so for me, it’s all about uplifting the community.”
With dreams of bringing live music, cultural education, and anti-bullying initiatives through his nonprofit Hate is Wrong, Esera is excited to make 98 Hawaiian Grill have a place inside The House Food & Tap food hall to help provide good food and good vibes.
Big thanks to Teagan King and the St. Cloud Times for shining a light on this exciting new chapter. Stay tuned — and stay hungry, St. Joseph!
